What Could It Cost?

I've done some research on what's currently out there for formal floral design training as of 2008...

Classes, Seminars (as in 'Going To School'):
Now, I am not telling you, Don't go to floral design school. If you are serious about a full-fledged career in floristry, you need complete professional education in all facets of the industry. Absolutely.

Here are some realistic 'on location' 2008 tuition estimates.
Prices include books and necessary supplies.

A full-blown, 5-days-a-week, 3 week Basic Floral Design Course can cost over $2,000.

Advanced classes such as wedding floral design and numerous 'special interest' seminars would be at additional cost.

1-day to 3-day Seminars on specialty topics could run from $100 to $700.

Even a quickie 2-hour flower arranging class can cost about $55.

Distance Learning:
Distance learning or home study floral design courses are segmented by 'module' or 'term,' and would cost about $1000 for one complete course.

Since you train at your own pace, it can take 6 to 9 months, or more, to 'graduate.' As you complete each segment, the next one is shipped out...and the focus is on fresh flowers, not silk flowers.
